I needed to find a good job after unexpectedly losing my last one through no fault of my own. The owners were in a bad car accident, and their children decided to close the business while their parents recuperated. I completely understood the decision, but I also knew that I could not wait for them to come back and open the shop doors again. I had too many bills of my own to pay, so I did an online search for financial services jobs in Bristol. I figured it was the best way to find a job in my area of expertise.
I was right too, because I quickly found a job forum board where I was able to customize my search to exactly what I wanted. I could choose between part time or permanent, the locations I was willing to work in, the type of job I wanted, and more. That is how I found the job that I have right now, which is actually better than the one that I had to leave behind. There were only a handful of jobs available when I looked so I was actually not holding out a lot of hope that I would be one of the lucky ones to secure employment this way.
I was committed enough to go through the process though, figuring it would help me to feel more comfortable in this new job seeking role I had found myself in. I applied to two different jobs on this board, and I was called in by one for an interview. I work for a wealth management provider, and I have a good shot at working my way up the ladder here. I am already eyeing one promotion, and I cannot wait to find out if I am going to get it within a few more months.
